Home organization & cleaning

Alleviate some of the pressure; feel more in control of your life by culling and organizing your home.

Together

We will discuss your priorities and needs.

I may or may not need your presence when it comes to culling and downsizing. It all depends on what you want to keep and/or dispose of, and how sentimental you are.

Grocery Shopping:

Shopping can take hours out of your day. There is an assortment of meal delivery services available although they limit shopping to specific stores, such as Save-On Foods for example. I shop at a variety of markets to suit your budget, to purchase specialty items, and/or ethnic foods at niche markets. I prefer shopping for poultry and meats from local farmers in Delta, Granville Island and local butchers; my seafood comes from the Delta local fishermen, Steveston docks, Organic Oceans Seafood, Ambleside Village Fish Market and seafood vendors at Granville Island.

You and I will discuss your preferences to ensure you and/or your family will be satisfied. We can also toggle your shopping list, and trim your budget, while keeping meals nutritious and tasty. Together we can find healthy, affordable, delicious alternatives (if that is your desire.)

Feeling overwhelmed?

Perhaps clutter may be adding to your stress levels. Close a door and hide the mess but one cannot un-see what we know is there. Somewhere in the back of your mind is a cry for help; a garage, spare room, messy closet, dishevelled drawers, or a basement in turmoil; an attic, storage, or even the entire home gnawing at you to clean it up. Call me!

Personal Driver

You may need a ride to or from the airport; you may require shopping or other items such as wine or a gift. Perhaps you need a ride to the hospital or doctor for yourself; a family member, or even to the vet or emergency for your pet? We can discuss your needs accordingly.  I have a clean driving record and reliable BMW X1 SUV.  -- (Note: Added fees for time and fuel will apply.)

After working in fine dining (and then becoming a fine diner) it became apparent that I loved food & the culinary culture surrounding it. I set my sites on becoming a chef.

However, after living in Whistler... circumstances led me to Japan.

In the 90's I moved to Tokyo where I was offered a job as V.P. of entertainment at Ganesa Casino in Shinjuku. Life in Japan introduced me to healthy foods and new culinary experiences; from farming to cookware; knife-ware, food and social science. Having spent time in Okinawa I learned of the Okinawan diet, and medicinal value of nutrition, contributing to longevity.

I deserted my Western way of eating. Immersing myself in the Japanese food culture (fused with my daily walking regimen) I unexpectedly shed 10 pounds within a matter of weeks.

I believe in the Japanese psychology behind responsible, sustainable, organic farming, and traditions; the Japanese believe we eat for nutrition, to nurture our body, and not just as a way to satiate our hunger.

Travelling to and from Japan over 20+ years I learned to create several of my favourite Japanese dishes; ramen, soba and braised vegetables; spinach gomae, yakiniku, chicken katsu, yakitori, yaki yasai (grilled vegetables); Shabu Shabu, ebi sunomono, tuna tataki, gobo, agedashi tofu, miso soup; Japanese dipping sauces and dressings, and more.

And while I adore Asian cuisine ... I continue to expand my culinary potential beyond Japan. Some of my inspirations come from James Walt's, Araxi; the Corsi's, Quattro, & Pino Posteraro's, Ciopinno's. My Russian / Doukhobor heritage is where I revert to for comfort foods such as borscht, tarts, and buttermilk biscuits. I love a spicy Thai, chicken-lemongrass soup on a nippy winter day or Araxi style French sweet/ onion soup. Whatever your tastebuds are calling for allow me to make it for you.
